Hands-On Cadaveric & Simulation Training
Two dedicated cadaveric days — vaginal procedures on pelvises, then abdominal and retroperitoneal procedures on trunks — followed by a scientific day of lectures, live robotic dissection and an abstract competition, with industry simulation stations throughout.
The course is built as two full cadaveric days followed by a scientific day. Day 1 works through the vaginal repertoire on four pelvises — midurethral slings, sacrospinous vaginal suspension, and vesicovaginal, rectovaginal and obstetric anal sphincter injury repair. Day 2 moves to four trunks for retroperitoneal dissection and ureterolysis, sacro-colpopexy, Burch colposuspension and the principles of lower urinary tract injury repair.
Eight candidate places and eight observer places are offered. Candidates stay with their assigned specimen and the instructors rotate to them hourly, so every candidate completes all four procedures of the day without leaving their bench. Day 3 is the scientific programme: regulation and practice in Saudi Arabia, a live robotic cadaveric dissection, technology and pain sessions, surgeon wellbeing, and the three winning abstracts.
The programme is directed by a scientific committee of Dr. Jawaher Alsahabi, Dr. Ashraf Dawood and Dr. Faisal Alturki, with national faculty and one international guest speaker, hosted at the College of Medicine, King Fahad Medical City, Riyadh.
Pelvic floor compartments and suspensory apparatus, retroperitoneal dissection and ureterolysis on cadaveric specimens.
TVT and TVT-O insertion, Burch colposuspension, and urethral bulking agents for stress urinary incontinence.
Sacrospinous vaginal suspension and abdominal sacro-colpopexy — mesh configuration, fixation and patient selection.
Vesicovaginal and rectovaginal fistula repair, Martius flap, obstetric anal sphincter injury repair, and lower urinary tract injury.
Sacral neuromodulation, percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation, vNOTES, robotics and energy-based device therapy.
Pelvic neuropathy, vaginismus from diagnosis to management, ergonomics in urogynecology and wellbeing at work.

Eight candidates and eight observers take part across the hands-on programme. On Day 2, each station has two candidates and one observer; the faculty carry their procedure from bench to bench.
